I am trying to determine the parents of my maternal great-grandfather, the Rev. John Kerr (1852 to 1920). He was born in or near Dumfries around 1852, and was minister of the church at Dirleton, North Berwick, for many years. He was historian to the Royal Caledonian Curling Club and wrote two books on curling, as well as THE GOLF-BOOK OF EAST LOTHIAN. He was married to Maria Groves, but divorced later in his life. I believe he died in Edinburgh in 1920. Among his children were sons, Alec and John Randolph, and daughters, Kathleen, Constance, and Winnifred Violet (my maternal grandmother).

Any information or search suggestions would be most welcome, as well as contact with others of Clan Kerr interested in corresponding with an American cousin.
