I was fortunate to find 'The Silk Industry in London, 1702-1766', Natalie Rothstein's 1961 Master of Arts Thesis. Published by University of London, this thesis is an excellent source of information on silk industerial settlement in South-East London. Names of French and English Master weavers established in which streets and their geographical expansion.
This thesis gave me the opportunity to emmerse myself into my ancestors world,
the effect of 1740 financial crisis, the begining of trade unionism, wages and the social character of masters influence and behaviour as citizens.
The thesis is digitised online and can be downloaded as a pdf https://archive.org/details/THESISROTHSTEIN1961_201612/page/...
