I have found a burial record of my great-great-grandfather William Dominick Smith in St. Mary's, Barnes, Surrey, England. The burial was Jul 17, 1890. I have a couple of questions about this. I contacted present-day St. Mary's Barnes and they said they have no record of my ancestor's burial, saying that by 1850 the graveyard was full and that he was likely buried in the Barnes Cemetery up the road. However, why would the burial record indicate St. Mary's if that was the case?
Also, beside the entry for my GGGrandfather is writen "By Coroner's Order". Does anyone know what that means? The
