Choose the "List" form type when the image contains names with relating information concerning their time in court or prison.

Prefix

Key any titles before the given name, such as "Dr," "Mr," or "Mrs," as seen on the record using the dictionary provided to assist you.

Given

Key the first name or initial and any middle names as seen on the record using the dictionary provided to assist you. Initials should be keyed with a space between them and without entering the periods. The name will typically appear in the "Name" column.

Surname

Key the surname as seen on the record using the dictionary provided to assist you.The name will typically appear in the "Name" column. If a Surname appears with a list of given names underneath, the surname should be keyed to all records to which it applies.

Suffix

Key all titles, such as "Jr" or "III", following the surname as seen on the record using the dictionary provided to assist you.

Alias Given

Key the first name or initial and any middle names of the alias name as seen on the record using the dictionary provided to assist you. Initials should be keyed with a space between them and without entering the periods.When provided, the Alias Given can be located by the Given and Surname and by the phrases: "Or", "Alias", or "As".

Key the surname of the alias name as seen on the record using the dictionary provided to assist you.When provided, the Alias Given can be located by the Given and Surname and by the phrases: "Or", "Alias", or "As".

Birth Place

Key the birth place as seen on the image using the dictionary provided to assist you. The birth place will typically be in the "Place of Birth" or "Religion and Birth Place" column.For the "Religion and Birth" column, the birth place will be located under the Religion. Do not key Religion.

Committal Day

When provided, key the Day from the Committal Date, which can be found by one of the following titles: "Trial Date", "Re-examination and Trial", "Summary Convictions", "CURRENT NUMBER DATE OF RECEIPT", "Place and Date of Conviction", "Date Received" (not When Rec), "Before Whom tried and date", "When Tried" and "Appointed to the Service". For the Committal Date, key first from the "Trial Date". If no Trail date appears, then key from the "Conviction" date, then the "Summary Convictions"date if no conviction date is found.When Committal Date appears in the Header, key the date to all records on the image to which it applies.For Officer records the Committal Date is the "Receiving" date. If no receiving date appears, key from the "Appointment" date. If "Ditto", or "Do" marks appear then Key down date from previous record or assigned header date.

Age

When provided, key the Age, which will be located in the columns titled:  "Age", "AGE NEXT BIRTHDAY", by the word "Age", "Age at Appointment", or next to the Given Name. If an age is available, be sure to key the date associated with that age.

Sentence

The sentence will typically be located in the "Sentence" or "Sentence or Order of the Court" column.Categorize the Sentence into one fo the five options listed in the dictionary. The value must match the dictionary. The values in the dictionary are:AcquittalDeathImprisonment or ServitudeTransportationOther

Choose the "Index" form type when the image contains an internal index. It will be a list of names, and typically say "Index" at the top.

Title Page

The Title Page will usually have the title: "A Calendar of Prisoners" in the header of the image.
