Choose the "Convict Register" form type when the image contains names to be keyed.

Line Number

Key a line number for each record, starting with 1 for the first line. Line numbers do not need to be keyed for lines that appear on the image but have no record. If a line was skipped because there was no record, then a number should also be skipped. See image samples on the wiki for examples.

Key the file number as seen on the image. It will typically be found in the "File Number" column.

Suffix

Key all titles, such as "Jr" or "III", following the surname of the primary person to whom the record applies using a dictionary if provided for assistance. If a suffix does not appear in a dictionary then key the suffix as seen.

Key the surname as seen on the record using the dictionary provided to assist you.

Given

Key the first name or initial and any middle names as seen on the record using the dictionary provided to assist you. Initials should be keyed with a space between them and without entering the periods.

Prefix

Key any titles before the given name, such as "Dr," "Mr," or "Mrs," as seen on the record using the dictionary provided to assist you.

Alias Given
