I have a date which is "xiij" which I presume is xiii. The problem is that the drop down list gives "xiij/xiii" and this is the only thing being automatically accepted as right. I also have a problem with someone christened on the tenth of a month. The system doesn't like roman numerals. Do you want "tenth" to be translated to "x" or as normal "10". There's going to be a lot of F7 needed here! There is a similar problem with burials for the Event Age. So far I have only found the age in roman numerals and these also aren't accepted automatically.
- A: The option from the dropdown/dictionary is correct, for "xiij" you would select the "xiij/xiii" option. In regard to entering days that are not in the dictionary we have made an adjustment so you don't have to F7 them.Annafechter 21:04, 24 April 2014 (UTC)
I have just keyed 'xiij' and not used the dropdown as the field help says key as seen. Is this now going to be an error when they are reviewed?
- No, the reviewer should accept your entry. Annafechter 18:10, 25 April 2014 (UTC)
The use of the phrase "as seen" in the instructions for Event Type is confusing since it also says that "The 'Marriage' event type should be keyed for the 'Weddings' section". I am assuming that we are supposed to select an Event Type from the dictionary, not to key it as seen, is that correct? Also the instructions for Event Age say to key "as seen" but then go on to state which values are valid for this field, so what do we do when the age is given in Roman numerals? Convert it? --Katerimmer 14:04, 26 April 2014 (UTC)
Q. Many names do not start with capitals. Do we key these exactly 'as seen'?, I ask because the keying tool (?helpfully) inserts capitals to start all names, as usual.

My pages have dates such as 8, 21, 24. and months March, April etc. Do you want these transcribed as roman numerals which means they won't be as seen and F7 is going to be very active?
