Extra Keying Helps
Common Keying Errors Found by Reviewers
- Duplicate images. A duplicate image is a true photographic copy of another image in the same set as the one you are currently working. An image that contains the same information is not a duplicate. Oversized documents often require multiple images to capture the whole image, these additional images are not duplicates either. If they have captureable names they are to be indexed.
- 8 and 0. The 8 is often written sideways and resembles an infinity sign. This is often mistaken for a 0.

q: I just began working on this project. Are we supposed to key in the names of the land owners where the flax was grown, or only the name of the person reported as having grown the flax?
a: I am awaiting Official Word on this too. I am currently keying claimants and occupiers, tenants and landlords, but omitting church wardens, overseers and various administrators. --Paulmd199 03:39, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
