Q: If there is a date under the army no. column do I put this as it is the first date to appear (as per keying guidelines) or is it only the dates in the "transfer to other corps" column that should be keyed?(as shown in image samples on guidelines) To elaborate on the date question - If I key the first date to appear then often it will mean that the dates don't all come from the same column heading and so don't correspond to the same event.(ie I could key a date appearing under the "army no" for one person and then if that is missing for the person below key in a date from the "transfer to other corps" as that is the first date shown on their line of the record) Does this mean we should be keying only the dates from the columns shown on the keying image samples on the wiki guidelines or are we literally keying the very first date for that person regardless of what it refers to (and ignoring that there may be an earlier date associated with that person further along the line of their record)?
- A: We have updated the date field helps to address this question. Annafechter 16:50, 10 October 2013 (UTC)
Q: The page header says "Nominal Roll of Officers who served in France, including Italy". In the column marked "Remarks, causes of leaving unit" to England - sick is mentioned a lot. What do I record for the EVENT place transcription?
Q: I have a 2nd page with no names, only discharge entries. How do I enter the 2nd page?
- A: it would be classified as a cover page. --Wiedwoman 23:00, 6 October 2014 (UTC)

Suggestion: The Instructions clearly state that: "If the month appears as a number, key as seen" , not the 3-letter abbreviation of the month. Also, the Keying Standards state that: "If the DAY appears as 04 on the record the date should be entered as 4." I am having to change too many. Thank you.
