How can I find the names?

An index of many pre-1914 gravestone inscriptions in North Carolina cemeteries is in the Search Room at the North Carolina State Archives. The FHL has a microfilm copy of the index, while both the North Carolina State Archives and the FHL have collections of cemetery records, arranged by county.

Some cemetery inscriptions are found online and can be located here: North Carolina Cemetery Records
