New Hanover is a county in North Carolina. It was formed in 1729 (as a precinct; declared a county, 1739) from the following county/ies: Craven Precinct, Bath County. New Hanover began keeping birth records in 1879, marriage records in 1741, and death records in 1879. It began keeping land records in 1729, probate records in 1732, and court records in 1738.
