The Ancestry.com Wiki is easy to use, but depending on what you want to do, some features do require a bit of learning. For example, if you want to add a section to an article that includes a table, you’ll need to learn something about how to design and display tables.  The Ancestry.com Wiki uses a special series of symbols (called a markup language) that controls things like formatting and tables in articles. You can learn more about this markup language below in the “Contributing to the Ancestry.com Wiki” section.

The Ancestry.com Wiki is built using MediaWiki, the same platform used by Wikipedia, the FamilySearch Wiki, and WeRelate, so if you have used any of those great resources, your knowledge should transfer perfectly. In any case, the following articles are here to help you master the Ancestry.com Wiki.
