Emily Elizabeth Dickinson

Born in the homestead built by her paternal grandfather, Samuel Dickinson in Amherst, Massachusetts, on December 10, 1830 to Edward Dickinson (son of Samuel Dickinson, founder of Amherst College) and to Emily Norcross from Monson, MA. Her parents were married on May 6, 1828.
