Bristol is a town in Rhode Island. It was formed in 1747 from the following county/ies: Bristol, Massachusetts. Bristol began keeping land records in 1747 and probate records in 1747. Court records can be found in Bristol. For more information, contact the town at 10 Court St., Bristol 02809. Part of Plymouth Colony, 1681—86, then Bristol Co. Mass. Ceded to Rhode Island, 1747.
