Barnwell is a county or district in South Carolina. It was formed in 1800 from the following county/ies or district/s: Winton County in Orangeburgh District. It has functioned since 1785 (Winton County). Barnwell began keeping birth records in 1915, marriage records in 1911, and death records in 1915.
