Cumberland is a town in Rhode Island. It was formed in 1747 from the following county/ies: Attleboro Gore. Cumberland began keeping land records in 1747 and probate records in 1747. Court records can be found in Providence. For more information, contact the town at 45 Broad St./P.O. Box 7, Cumberland 02864. Earlier records, 1692—1747, are in Bristol County, Massachusetts at Taunton.
