The competition is open to UK residents aged 18 or over, except employees of the Promoter or its group companies, their immediate families and their agents. Closing date is midnight GMT on 9th March 2012. No responsibility can be accepted for entries that are not received for whatever reason.
By sending us an email you are entering the National Army Museum’s War Horse: Fact & Fiction exhibition (the “Exhibition”) competition and you agree to these terms and conditions. BY SENDING INFORMATION AND MATERIALS TO PROMOTER IN AN EMAIL YOU AGREE THAT YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO DO SO, AND THAT YOU HAVE OBTAINED ANY THIRD PARTY CONSENTS WHERE REQUIRED (E.G., UNDER DATA PROTECTION OR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAWS)
One (1) winner will be chosen by the National Army Museum’s War Horse: Fact & Fiction exhibition team. Entries will be judged on the following criteria: (i) Fantastic Story - A story which tells an extraordinary tale exploring some of the historic themes touched on in the exhibition, such as requisition and transportation, scale of involvement, roles, heroism, sacrifice, legacy; (2) Strong source materials- A story which is supported by interesting source materials, this could be a diary, a photograph (or series of photographs), a painting, a newspaper cutting, etc. (3) Great horse link - A story which is strongly linked to working with horses and gives us an additional insight into what it was like to work with these animals during war time.
The winning entry will be used to create an exhibit that will be featured in the Exhibition (The “Exhibit”) and the winner will have the chance to find out more about their family history from the War Horse: Fact & Fiction curatorial team.
If you are the winner you grant the Promoter and the National Army Museum a non-exclusive right and licence to copy, reproduce, display and otherwise use any materials in your entry or that you provide to them, at their discretion, for the purpose of creating, displaying or promoting the Exhibit and for any of Promoter’s commercial or non-commercial purposes in all and any media, world wide. You agree that the Promoter may edit or alter your entry and any materials you provide in any way which the Promoter deems appropriate. You agree that any intellectual property rights in the Exhibit will belong to the Promoter.
The winner will be notified by e-mail within 21 days of the closing date. The Promoter's decision is final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into. No cash alternatives to the prizes will be offered, and the prizes are not transferable. If a winner cannot be contacted within 1 week of being notified, the Promoter reserves the right to chose an alternate winner with no further obligation or liability to the initial winner.
You agree that Promoter may contact you to notify you if the National Army Museum considers that any part of your entry might be useful for the Museum’s permanent collection or other areas of the Museum's work.
The Promoter reserves the right to modify, cancel or withdraw the competition at any time without notice. Materials sent by email will not be returned to entrants. Any personal information received by the Promoter in connection with this competition will be used in accordance with these terms and conditions and the Promoter’s Privacy Statement. You also consent to the Promoter using your name and county of residence for administrative and promotional purposes relating to the competition and the winner agrees to participate in publicity relating to the Exhibition and the competition.
