About Irish Pedigrees

This database contains both volumes of a work titled, Irish Pedigrees. The first volume lays out the origin of the Irish nation by tracing the descendents of Adam down to Milesius of Spain and then tracing the descendents of one of Milesius' sons, Heber, down to the Irish people. It also describes the territories in possession of the Irish families during the twelfth century, the coats of arms of leading Irish families, the English Invasion, and also the Cromwellian Devastation. The second volume contains the genealogies of Irish families from the twelfth century down to the end of the sixteenth century. It also contains information on the settlement of Ireland, the Huguenot and Palatine families in Ireland, and the Irish Brigade in service of other nations. While this work does not contain all the pedigrees of the Irish people, this work is still quite valuable as it does provide genealogical information on many Irish families and also historical information on the Irish nation as a whole.
