Raphael Family History

Raphael Name Meaning

Jewish, French, English, and German: from the Hebrew personal name Refael composed of the elements rafa ‘to heal’ + el ‘God’. This is the name of one of the archangels, but for some reason it was less popular among Christians in the Middle Ages, except perhaps in Italy, than those of the archangels Michael and Gabriel.
