Kabel Name Meaning
German: topographic name from Middle Low German kabel ‘lot field’. This alludes to the custom in North Rhine-Westphalia of alloting communally owned plots of land to individual farmers by the drawing of lots. Dutch: metonymic occupational name for someone who produced cables from Dutch kabel ‘cable’ or a topographic or habitational name referring to a house which was distinguished by the image of a cable possibly because it referred to a manufactory of ropes and cables.
