(ii) said to be borne by descendants of Fang Hui (方回) an official who lived during the reign of the legendary Emperor Yao (c. 24th century BC). (iii) from Hui (回) the name of a minority ethnic group in China (who are Muslims by tradition) located mainly in northwestern China particularly in the Ningxia Hui autonomous region.
