At present, we have more than 26 million family trees created by our members, containing 2.6 billion individual profiles. Any one of them could provide a link to your family. The best way to find out is through Member Connect.

Member Connect automatically looks for members who seem to have the same relatives in their family trees — suggesting they too are related. To check for matches, choose any person in your family tree and click 'View profile', then select 'Member Connect' on the far right. You'll see a list of suggested connections — profiles in other trees that are similar to the person you've selected. If you see one that looks like the same person, click 'Connect'.

Once you've connected to a member, you can view their entire family tree to see what else they may have found. You can then send them an email to discuss your findings and share information about the family – you may decide to meet up or even hold a family reunion!
