  3. Irish: Anglicized form (translation) of Gaelic Ó Fuada, ‘descendant of Fuada’ a personal name meaning ‘hasty’, ‘rushing’ (see Foody).
  4. Altered spelling of German Rüsch or Rusch (see Rusch) or Rosch.
